40/29, Arkansas CW hold food drive

40/29 (KHBS/KHOG-TV) and The Arkansas CW will host the fifth annual Feeding Hope Turkey Drive from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Walmart locations across the region including 8301 Rogers Ave., 2210 N. 62nd St., 2425 S. Zero St., 8600 U.S. 71 South and 4900 Rogers Ave., Suite 101J, all in Fort Smith; 2214 Fayetteville Road in Van Buren; 367 W. Cherry St. in Alma; 1400 E. Main St. in Booneville; 230 Market St. in Clarksville; 1172 N. Arkansas 7 in Dardanelle; 551 Liberty Drive in Greenwood; and 600 U.S. 71 North in Mena.

For every Butterball turkey given, the donation will be matched, up to a total of 1000 Butterball turkeys.

Event staged to benefit homeless program

Supply/Demand, a music and art experience, will stage a benefit for Riverview Hope Campus at 7 p.m. Nov. 25 at The Bakery District, formerly Shipley Baking Co., 63 S. Sixth St. Artists included in the event include Buffalawrt, Lucas Wisner and J. Minor. Musicians include DJ Carte Blanche, WetheSoul, Escape Tones, Space4Lease and Brother Moses.

Donations are encouraged for chance to win a raffle prize. Needed items include canned food, winter coats, toiletries, large trash bags, masking tape, coffee cups, black Sharpie markers, a large coffee urn, padlocks with two keys, mailboxes, folders, pens, pencils and message pads.

Lunch and Learn focuses on state budget

The next Poteau Chamber of Commerce Lunch and Learn program will focus on the Oklahoma state budget process as presented by State Chamber of Commerce officials. Lunch will begin at 11:45 a.m. Nov. 30 at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center, 105 Reynolds Ave. in Poteau. The program will begin at 12:15 p.m. Cost is $8 per person.

Grizzly Theatre to stage 'Mira's Curse'

Northside High School's Grizzly Theatre will stage "Mira's Curse" at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 and at 2 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Northside High School auditorium, 2301 N. B St. This event is a student-written, -directed and -composed production and follows the story of Ursula from "The Little Mermaid." The show details how Ursula became the sea witch and how betraying actions and magic fracture a family. Cast members include LaRicci Flores, Gabriel Colpitts, Carla Hernandez, Jason Lopez, Lily Newton, Abby Hope, Madeleine Newman, Katherine Smith, July Rodriguez, Kalia Walker, Gavin Garrett and Maria Raya. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and $1 for children 12 and younger. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Fort Smith Public Schools employees with ID will receive a $1 discount. A $1 discount also is offered to those who bring a canned food item for the school's annual food drive.

Holiday scholarship dinner slated

The 2017 Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund's annual holiday dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 2 in the North Rotunda at the Fort Smith Convention Center, 55 S. Seventh St. Dinner will be catered by River City Bistro. Tickets are $75 each or $650 for a table seating 10.

WAC to stage 'Rudolph,' more

"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Musical" is returning to northwest Arkansas for 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. performances Dec. 2 at the Walton Arts Center, 495 W. Dickson St. in Fayetteville. Tickets start at $28.

Trike Theatre will stage "Charlotte's Web" for nine performances between Friday and Dec. 2 at the Walton Arts Center. Show times include 7:30 p.m. Friday and Dec. 1; 2 p.m. Nov. 19, 25 and 26 and Dec. 2; 4 p.m. Nov. 19 and 26; and 7 p.m. Nov. 25. Tickets are $9 for children and $15for adults.

I'm With her, a trio composed of Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz and Aoife O-Donovan, will perform during the Fayetteville Roots Festival at 7 p.m. April 17 at the Walton Arts Center. Tickets are $32.50 plus fees and go on sale Friday.
