At the Charleston Chamber of Commerce lunch last week Franklin County Judge, Rickey Bowman, stated that someone had vandalized the County Courthouse sometime between 9 am on New Year’s Eve until that following Monday.

Bowman said that six windows were broken with rocks and some of the awnings.

“If anyone happens to hear anything the City of Charleston Police would be more than happy to visit with some folks.”

Some of the windows have already been replaced. The damage is estimated to be around $2,000.

“Hopefully we can find out who is responsible and get them to pay for the damages,” said Bowman.

The Charleston Police Department declined to comment saying that the matter is still under investigation.
