Paul Edward Lewis, 79, was born on Jan. 16, 1938 in Vian, Okla., to Ed and Elsie Lewis. He passed away on Feb. 1, 2017, at his home in Hot Springs Village, Ark. He graduated from Warner High School in 1956, Connor Jr. College in 1958, Northeastern State College with his Bachelor of Science in mathematics in 1962. He later earned his Masters of Education degree from Northeastern State College in 1970, and completed his public school superintendent requirements from the University of Tulsa in 1973. Paul had a 30-year career in public school education in Oklahoma as a math teacher, coach, elementary principal and superintendent. This 30-year career impacted thousands of young people, with many of his former students and players keeping up with him until his passing. Paul married Dolly Delores Roberts on May 2, 1957. During their more than 50 years of marriage they had three children, Pamela Rene', Paul David (deceased), and Martin Edward. When he and Dolly retired in 1991, they moved to Hot Springs Village, where Paul became very active and competitive in golf, in and around the state of Arkansas, qualifying twice for the United States Senior Amateur Championship. They made countless, wonderful friends, both on the golf course and off and in the Village Bible Church where he became an active member. After Dolly's passing in 2007, Paul felt a tremendous void which was filled when he married Mle' Tipton on April 19, 2009. They had seven wonderful years together traveling, especially to Augusta, Ga., each year in April where Paul continued his tradition of volunteering at the Master's Gold Tournament. Paul and Mle' enjoyed visiting their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but most of all they loved each other's company and serving the LORD together. Memorials in Paul's memory may be made to Village Bible Church.
