Our Charleston Senior Tigers traveled to Paris on March 20, for another fun filled game of bean bag baseball against a great team. Game #1: Charleston Senior Tigers, Betty Ayers, Sharon Potts, Naomi Martine, and Joy Brown all made Home runs and brought runs home. Game #2 Sharon Potts, Charley Brown, and Charles Bohannon all made home runs and brought runs home. The Paris Granny Apples was ready for us, they won both games. 1st game 22-14 and 2nd game 7 to 6. Charleston will host Paris April 10th.

On Mar 21, Area Agency on Aging’s Information and Assistance Specialists Jasmine Henry and Laura Henson came to our center to do Drums Alive with some of our seniors. Drums Alive is a evidence based program. This program is specifically geared to work with our senior citizen population and combines the benefits of music and beats. Drums Alive “is a program that fosters a healthy balance physically, mentally, emotionally and socially as it provides an element of fun and creative expression.” Drums Alive will be back April 4th at 12:30 and April 18th at 12:30.

Mar 23rd we had distribution, there was all kinds of produce. Strawberries, bell peppers, grapes, cantaloupe, blueberries, cucumbers, lettuce, greens, and sooo much more. We will try to have another distribution on April 6th at 12:45.

Mar 24th, Charleston Senior Tigers hosted Van buren. Game #1 Sharon Potts, Mary Bohannon, Larry Walthall ,Charles Bohannon ,Gene Brown ,Dwight Mantooth, and Joy Brown all made homeruns and brought runs home. Game #2 Helen Mantooth, Larry Walthall, Naomi Martine, Dwight mantooth and Mary Bohannon all made home runs. Dwight made 4 homeruns and in the last inning with two outs Mary hit a homerun which help the Senior Tigers win the game by 1 charleston won both games. 15-11 and 15-14. VanBuren will host Charleston April 14th.and on April 3rd, Charleston will host Ozark at 10:00 come cheer the Senior Tigers on!!

April 4th,at 10:45, Tonja Pejc will be speaking on home health. This could be great information for anyone that needs or knows someone that may need help.

National Family Caregiver Support Program

The Charleston Senior Center will have a caregiver support meeting on April 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. If you are a caregiver (of any age) of an adult 60 years and older please come join us. This information could be extremely helpful to you. The topic will be on Hypertension. Presented by PARIS HEALTH AND REHABLITAION, SHANNA COLLINS.
