19th Annual Race for the Cure Registration Office Now Open
Come celebrate this annual spring tradition with the ribbon cutting at 11:00 AM, With just over a month left until the 19th annual Race for the Cure, the Komen Ozark Affiliate will open their Race Registration Office on Thursday, April 6th. Sponsored by Washington Regional Medical Center, the race office is located in Pinnacle Promenade Mall in Suite 5165 next door to Candy Craze. Prizes and discounts will be offered to those who come and register!
The 19th Annual Race for the Cure will be held at Pinnacle Promenade Saturday, April 22nd. Participants can register at the race office or online at www.komenozark.org up until race day.

Paws 4 Art To Feature Family Activities, Benefit Sebastian County Humane Society
FORT SMITH, Ark. - Paws 4 Art is planned for April 22, 2017, 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., at Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Fort Smith. This event is a fundraiser for the Sebastian County Humane Society and will feature a large number of art- and animal-related activities. Denise Weakley and Pat Little, co-founders, describe Paws 4 Art as a fun-filled event for all ages. Features include a variety of art displays as well as hands-on creative activities, animals, food and entertainment. The mobile unit from the Sebastian County Humane Society will be onsite with information about adoptions and animal care. Pony rides will be available for an additional fee. Bring a donation to the ride to receive a discount. Mayor Sandy Sanders will open the event at noon with a proclamation designating April 22 as Paws 4 Art Day in Fort Smith. Local nursing homes have been encouraged to bring residents to a special cookies and tea event for seniors, where fellowship and art will be featured. Residents will be able to view the activities from the community center. Items in the Bid or Buy Auction include gift certificates, pet supplies and bedding, children’s toys, household items Everyone is encouraged to attend and bring pet supplies and donations.
30th Annual Greenwood Car Show

The Greenwood United Methodist Men’s Annual Pancake Breakfast helps support the Backpack Program. (Which provides food for school age kids on the weekends) FREE Egg Hunt!! Master Gardener Class Offered
Registration is underway for the River Valley Master Gardener program’s training class scheduled May 1-5 (8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.) at The Learning Fields at Chaffee Crossing. Contact your County Extension Office (479-484-7737 in Sebastian County) (or 479-474-5286 in Crawford County) for more information or an application form. The class consists of 40 hours of instruction in basic horticulture and research-based information, including vegetable and fruit production, lawn care, use of ornamentals in the landscape and other timely topics. Classes are taught by agents and specialists of the Cooperative Extension Service, which is part of the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture. Cost of the class is $85.
Westwood Elementary PTO Spring Fling
The annual Spring Fling will be held on March 31st! It will begin at 5:00pm and will end at 8:30pm. There will be games, refreshments, food, a raffle, and so many other fun things! Come out and enjoy this fun-filled event with your family!
The Franklin County Master Gardener
The annual plant sale will be held April 8th, 8-1. The sale will be held in parking lot at the Franklin County Extension Office is located at 300B Airport Rd. in Ozark. A variety of vegetable plants, flowers and hanging baskets will be available.

Annual Bizzy Bee Bazaar
On Friday and Saturday, May 5th and 6th Greenwood First Assembly of God will be hosting it’s first annual Bizzy Bee Bazaar. This event will feature area arts, crafts, and vendors. Interested vendors are encouraged to contact the church as soon as possible to secure a booth. The Church will accept deposits per vendor for an 8 foot space. Vendors can bring their own table and canopy if desired. Charleston Cruisers’ will host a charity car show on May 13, 2017. We are proud that this tradition has been celebrated each year for over 40 years.
