Movies in the Park


Lavaca city park Saturday, August 5th, at 7:00pm. Boss Baby will be showing for the back to school bash! Bring school supplies to donate to students in need! There will be an actual princess and a fairy tale magical palace bounce house, funnel cakes, face painting, balloon animals and Gospel Clown Presentation at 6pm. This event is sponsored by your Lavaca Area Chamber of Commerce.


12th Annual Greg Cox Memorial Golf Tournament


August 19-20th, 2017 Little Creek Country Club Ratcliff, Arkansas. Lots of prizes and giveaways! Hole in one 2018 Chevrolet vehicle- chance to win a 2 night stay at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, MO. **Limited to firt 40 teams lunch and dinner will be provided** Hot dog eating contest-open signup. 7:30 am and 1:30pm Shotgun Starts. $100 hole sponsor, $500 corporate sponsor or any other donations. We have several kinds of baskets that have been made or donated for the silent auction and also have a Boys and Girls backpack filled completely with all needed school supplies for Kindergarten. This sale will benefit each classroom at PKA to buy needed classroom items. Please come out and support the staff and students at PKA DONATIONS ARE ACCEPTED AND APPECIATED.


The Class of 2019 Project Graduation committee


We would like to invite all fathers and daughters of girls ages pre-k thru 8th grade to attend the 1st Annual “Once Upon a Time” Daddy/Daughter dance. This special event will be held on Saturday, August 26th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Charleston Community Center. Cost of the event will be $10.00 for a Daddy/Daughter couple and $5.00 for each additional guest, with tickets available for purchase at the door. The event will include lots of dancing, games, prizes, and fun memories. Additional activities and items for purchase will include a photo booth, selfie booth, glow items, and concessions. Dress for the event is “Sunday Best” although girls (and their Dads) are encouraged to dress as fancy as they wish. We hope all dads (or those who proudly fill the role), pre-k thru 8th grade daughters, moms, aunts, grandmas, siblings, grandpas, etc., will attend this very special event! All proceeds will go to the Class of 2019 Project Graduation fundraiser.
