Charleston Lodge to Host Chili Cook-off


The Charleston Lodge will host a chili cook-off on October 14th at 5:00 pm at the Charleston Lodge hall. Everyone is encouraged to make their favorite chili and enter it in the contest. The winner of the contest will receive a prize. Also, everyone is encouraged to come and enjoy a bowl of chili and fellowship at the Charleston Lodge. This is an opportunity for the lodge to express their appreciation to the public. Don’t forget October 14th at 5:00 pm to join us for a fun afternoon at the Charleston Lodge Hall.

Weekend Retreat


St. Scholastica Retreat Center, 1205 S. Albert Pike, Fort Smith will offer a weekend retreat, “Everywhere a Blessing: A Celtic Spirituality Retreat,” from October 27-29. Participants will reclaim their forgotten Celtic legacy as they celebrate the goodness of creation, the nearness of Saints, and the power of the Trinity in their midst. Presentations will utilize ancient poetry, art, song, storytelling, and Celtic Christianity’s beautiful legacy of prayers and blessings. Presenter Sister Therese Elias, OSB has been leading Celtic pilgrimages to Ireland, Scotland, England, and Wales since 1996. Her pilgrimage ministry began at the invitation of Esther de Wall, who mentored her in Celtic Spirituality.

AM’s Annual Art Affair: Searching for the Seventies


Organized by the Fort Smith Regional Art Museum, Date & time: Saturday, October 28, 7-10PM. Admission is $75 for members, $100 for nonmembers. Dust off your bell bottoms and throw on your love beads for RAM’s Annual Art Affair Searching for the Seventies. Special guests will enjoy: 70’s music and disco, Heavy appetizers from River City Bistro, Raffle (featuring a $2,500 gift certificate to Newton’s Jeweler’s, flower arrangement by Expressions Flowers, & tickets to The Escape Room, just to name a few), Open bar featuring a 70s-themed cocktail, 70s themed photo props, Make-and-take 70s art, Throwback 70s board games. This event is RAM’s annual fundraiser that supports educational programming.
