Ruby Rachel Kroh died peacefully on August 28, 2016 in Prince William, Virginia at the age of 92.
Ruby, the eldest of eight children, was born on July 22, 1924 in Charleston, Arkansas to Clifford Womack and Dena (Goff) Womack. She married the late Donald Olson (d. 1975), and the couple welcomed one child, Vernon. Ruby went on to marry Uriah Kroh of Springfield, Virginia; they enjoyed many years together while staying active in their community, and dedicated to their family and friends.
Ruby enjoyed a career with the US Federal Government, working for the Central Intelligence Agency. During her tenure, Ruby spent time in Japan and Germany. Ruby was a driven individual who was active in politics, and was passionate about the electoral process, and supporting the Republican National Committee.
Ruby is survived by her son, Vernon Olson of Springfield, VA; two granddaughters, Christina Gansemer and Melissa Black; and five great-grandchildren. Her husband, Uriah Kroh, preceded her in death on May 19, 2016.
Ruby will be remembered fondly for her knack of living life to its fullest, opening her home to guests and being a generous hostess, and her affinity for making those around her feel loved.
The funeral was held at 2:00pm on Tuesday September 6, 2016 at National Funeral Home.
