Kenneth Clayton Hewitt, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born July 21, 1929 in Charleston to the late William F. Hewitt and Magnolia (Nicely) Hewitt. He was 84 years old. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vera Lee (Tusing) Hewitt; one grandchild, Kory Bakewell; seven sisters and four brothers.
Kenneth was a retired carpenter. He was also a dairy farmer and poultry farmer. Kenneth served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Charleston.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 30th, at First Free Will Baptist Church in Charleston, with the Rev. Jeff Holland and Rev. Bill Van Meter officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by three sons, Kenny Hewitt and wife Cindy of Charleston, David Hewitt and wife Mary Jane of Charleston, and Darrin Hewitt and fiancee Candy of Lavaca; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Speer, Billy Hewitt, Rodney Hewitt, David Paul Hewitt, Jerry Rainwater, and Billy Bagwell.
