The Alma Airedales kept things close to the best with Harrison on Tuesday night.

That is, until the final two minutes.

Harrison's Jackson Marseilles scored nine of his 16 points in the fourth quarter and the Goblins shook free of the Airedales, 67-58, in 5A-West play.

Alma, which led 33-30 at the half, took an early 36-32 lead in the third quarter on Nathan Corder's 3-pointer — Alma's biggest lead of the night.

But Harrison battled back to tie the game at 45 after three, and the teams continued to trade baskets until Marseilles' 3-pointer with 3:35 left to play helped the Goblins build a 58-53 lead.

Back-to-back baskets by Kade Wood brought the Airedales to within one (58-57) with 2:04 left, and Marseilles scored for a 60-57 lead.

From that point on, the Goblins outscored the Airedales 9-1 over the final 1:47.

Playing his final home game, Corder led all scorers with 22 points. Brayden Johnson finished with 17.

GIRLS — The Harrison Lady Goblins were caught up in one of those rough-and-tumble affairs that could have gotten away from them.

But the veteran Lady Goblins, who couldn't stop fouling in the first half, came out firing in the third quarter and cruised to a 58-50 win over the Airedalettes Tuesday at Charles B. Dyer Arena. Alma led by six at the half but finished just 14-of-27 from the foul line.

Junior Sierra Bailey led all scorers with 18 points. Seniors Kailey Fagan and Alyssa Hoyle finished with 13 and 10 points, respectively, for Alma. Hoyle also had 11 rebounds. Senior Abbye Ostrander added nine for the Airedalettes.

Harrison led 11-8 after the first quarter, but Alma outscored the Lady Goblins 18-9 and took a 26-20 halftime lead on the strength of a 9-0 scoring run. Bailey's 3-pointer made it 24-20, and her layup gave Alma a 26-20 halftime advantage.

Bailey three-point effort gave Alma a 29-22 lead with 7:10 left to play.

But she was whistled for her fourth foul with 2:43 left in the third quarter. Fagan's layup tied the game at 41 with 46.1 left in the third quarter, but Harrison led by two after three, and the Goblins started the fourth with three quick baskets to stretch the lead to 49-41 with 5:33 left to play.
