Lynley Sharum, Montana Smith and Hannah Rainwater scored six points apiece Tuesday to power the Southside Mavericks to a critical 27-20 win over the Bryant Lady Hornets in 7A-Central play.
Southside led 9-0 after one quarter and 11-7 at the half. After Bryant grabbed a 16-14 lead after three, Southside held Bryant to just four fourth quarter points.
Also for Southside, Emily Lockhart had four points and Kelly Carson finished with three.
Greenwood 46, Siloam Springs 44 (OT)
GIRLS — Kaila Cartwright scored 15 points and Jaelin Glass added 12 as the Greenwood Lady Bulldogs defeated Siloam Springs, 46-44, in overtime Tuesday.
Sara Reeves finished with 10 points and seven rebounds. Cartwright also had six boards. The Lady Bulldogs were just 8-of-16 from the free throw line.
Clarksville 61, Providence Academy 49
GIRLS — Senior Samantha Childers scored 15 points Tuesday as Clarksville beat Providence Academy, 61-49, in nonconference play. The Lady Panthers (16-11) close out their home slate Friday against Alma.
Grace Dougan and Jonna Burt finished with 12 and 10 points, respectively, to pace Clarksville.
Charleston 53, Elkins 44
GIRLS — Jada McDowell scored 12 of her 19 points in the first half as the Charleston Lady Tigers rolled past Elkins, 53-44, at the District 3A-1 West tournament.
Hattie Newhart, Abbey Jones and Allie Green finished with eight points apiece for the Lady Tigers.
Cedarville 65, Elkins 53
BOYS — Justin Shelly scored 13 of his 19 points in the first two quarters and Dylan Mason hit a trio of 3-pointers to power Cedarville to a 65-53 win over Elkins Tuesday.
Cedarville will face Charleston Thursday in the 3A-1 West championship game. Both teams have already clinched a berth in next week's regional tournament.
Paris 63, Atkins 56
GIRLS — Lycia Peevy and Sadie Started scored 22 and 15 points, respectively, Tuesday to pace Paris to a 63-56 win over Atkins at the 3A-4 district tournament at Paris High School.
Macey Hurt and Kielie Robinson finished with nine and eight points, respectively, for the Lady Eagles.
Western Yell 50, Mulberry 39
GIRLS — Western Yell rattled off 18 straight points in the first quarter Tuesday and coasted to a 50-39 win over Mulberry at the 1A-1 West district tournament.
Mulberry rallied to within three at the half (27-24), but managed just two third quarter field goals. Andrea Balbuena and Anna Hall led the Lady Wolverines with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Amanda Jones had 13 for Mulberry, and teammates Destiny Freeman and Krissie Nunnley finished with eight apiece.
Scranton 73, Hartford 40
BOYS — David Anderpont, Alex Bailey and Levi Herron scored 11 points each to pace Scranton to a 73-40 win over Hartford at the 1A-1 West District Tournament in Mulberry. Hunter Johnson had nine for the Rockets.
Scranton plays Mulberry Thursday at 5:15 p.m. in the finals.
