Charleston upset the No. 1 seed from with a single run in the top of the seventh inning.

Payton Gattis reached on an error to lead-off the inning. After a flyout from Brittany Furr, Gattis came around to score when Peyton Oldridge and Bethany Haney reached consecutively on Greenland errors.

All three Greenland errors came in the seventh inning and the Lady Pirates went up three-up, three-down to end the game.

Lavaca 3, West Fork 0

The host team used complete-game, 12-strikeout, zero-walk effort and solo home run from Cheyenne Crawford to book its spot in the semifinals.

Crawford hit her homer in the second inning, Erica Schuster doubled and scored in the third and Bailee Crawford added a solo home run in the sixth to provide all the scoring the Lady Golden Arrows would need.

The defending state runners-up play top-seeded Mansfield in the semifinals on Monday. Lavaca actually swept the series against the conference champs in the regular season.

"Kind of a rivalry," Lavaca coach Brian Schlinker said. "Our two teams have gone back and forth over the years. It’s awfully tough to beat a team three times and we know that. We’re just going to go out and hope to do it again."

Lavaca made it to the State Final last year, Mansfield won the title the year before and Atkins won the year before that. Schlinker reiterated Lem in talking about the strength of 3A-4.

"We’ve proven, as a conference, the last four or five years, we’re strong," he said. "You better be ready to play every week in our conference. We have a lot of teams at the top that can really play."
