(Fort Smith, AR, December 13, 2018) The United Way of Fort Smith Area announced today that Shea Foldvary will be the new Director of Resource Development. Shea takes the place of Penni Burns that accepted a promotion to become the President and CEO of the Crisis Intervention Center in Fort Smith, AR. “Shea is a tremendous addition and we feel very fortunate to have him join the team. His experience under the leadership of long time United Way supporters and former board members Tracey Geren and Jim Walcott at Weldon Williams and Lick will allow him to come in and immediately make an impact. Shea ran fantastic campaigns and handled the special events from the company side of operations and this experience will translate into an easy transition on the United Way side. Shea has been a wonderful volunteer and donor and will bring a strong passion to the mission and work of our United Way,” stated Eddie Lee Herndon, President and CEO of United Way of Fort Smith Area.

As director of Resource Development, Shea will be responsible for developing and executing annual workplace campaigns, retaining and strengthening individual donor engagement, as well as identifying and cultivating donors.

Shea began his career in Fort Smith working for Weldon, Williams and Lick, Inc. in the Human Resources Department where he was responsible for leading both internal and external initiatives to raise money for United Way of Fort Smith Area, as well as being involved throughout the community. Through his efforts and passion for both the United Way and individuals he was named the 2015 Campaign Coordinator of the Year for the United Way of Fort Smith Area. He also served as a volunteer on the United Way Community Investment Team and was part of the very important process of grant funding to partner agencies. Most recently, Shea was a Practice Manager for Mercy Fort Smith where he oversaw the day-to-day operation of three medical clinics. His compassionate heart and desire to help individuals within the community makes the United Way of Fort Smith Area a great fit.

Shea resides in Greenwood with his wife Kristi and son Hudson.
