School Board candidates filing period for the year 2020 will be the same as Party Filing this November 4 th at 12 noon through November 12th 12 noon. Candidates filing by petition will file a petition of candidacy, affidavit of eligibility, and political practice pledge with the county clerk for the Annual School Election held on March 3 rd, 2020. This paperwork may be picked up at the County Clerk’s office.


Independent candidates for state, district, county, and township offices must file for office during the November filing period (11/4/19 12 noon through 11/12/19 12 noon). Political Practice Pledge, an affidavit of eligibility, and a notice of candidacy will be filed during this period. However, the Independent Candidate Petition Affidavit and their petitions will be filed at a later date of 12:00 noon May 1, 2020.


(signatures may be collected starting February 1, 2020.) This paperwork may be picked up from the County Clerk’s office.


Party filings - party pledges, if any, and affidavits of eligibility shall be filed, filing fees of a political party, if any, shall be paid, and party certificates shall be issued by the party during regular office hours during the filing period (11/4/19 12 noon through 11/12/1912 noon). A party certificate and political practice pledge shall be filed with the county clerk or Secretary of State, as the case may be, during regular office hours during the party filing period.


Further filings will be Statement of Financial Interest for non-incumbent candidates Due November 18th, 2019, and Campaign Contributions and Expenditures Pre-election report due February 25, 2020, and a final report due April 30th, 2020.


Incumbent candidates will file Statement of Financial Interest by Jan 31st, 2020.
