The First United Methodist Church of Charleston will have "Blessing of the Animals" worship on Sunday, October 6th, at 4:00pm on the church parking lot behind the fellowship hall. According to Rev. Chuck Coffelt, Pastor, a blessing of the animals is held near the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. He is considered the patron saint of animals and the environment.

"Because animals provide us with companionship and utility, it is good to give thanks to God for their being," says Coffelt. Any animal that is brought will receive a blessing from Pastor Chuck. This is a community wide event and all pets and livestock are invited to be blessed. Bring a representative from your flock, litter or herd and join us.
