Thomas John Nolan, Jr., who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born October 15, 1923 to the late Thomas John Nolan, Sr. and Lillian (Burger) Nolan. He was 89 years old.

Tom was a retired geologist for Marathon Oil Company in Findley, Ohio. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was past president of the Arkansas Catllemen’s Association.

His body was cremated under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston and no services will be held.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Nolan of Australia and Peggy Kaufman of Ravenna, Michigan; five sons, Richard L. Nolan of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Michael E. Nolan of Santa Ana, California, Jerry C. Nolan of Denver, Colorado, Robert G. Nolan of Bakersfield, California, and Matthew L. Nolan of Denver, Colorado; one sister, Melanie Munch of Metarie, Louisiana; five grandchildren.
