The 2018 So. Franklin County Fair is now history. As Chairman of the Home Economics Division I would like to thank all of the dedicated volunteers who worked many hours and those individuals who brought items to exhibit that contributed to the success of the Fair. This is the third year the Charleston High School has allowed students to volunteer in the Home Ec. Division and their assistance is appreciated. The Fair is a community event and without the volunteers it could not happen. For whatever reasons the number of exhibitors who entered items in the Home Ec. Division was down approximately one-third from the previous year. I encourage anyone who grows a garden, flowers, house plants, cans produce, involved in art, photography, sews, quilts, any type of crafts to consider entering them in the fair next year. This includes children, youth and adults. Items made between now and the 2019 Fair are eligible for entry. The fair is a community event and the more involvement and support only contributes to the success. We have identified some changes that will be considered in an effort to improve our Division. If you have suggestions that you would like us consider please contact me at 965-6035. Again a big “Thanks” to the Volunteers and to those entered items to exhibit. Looking forward to seeing you at the 2019 Fair. Paula Dozier
