Charleston archers claim regional titles at ANASP tournament

Charleston High School senior Gracie Berry placed third at the Arkansas National Archery in the
Schools Program regional tournament.

Charleston School's archery teams placed in the top two at the Arkansas National Archery in the Schools Program (ANASP) region 5 tournament, earning bids to the state championship.

The elementary team, led by medalists Katie DeWitt, Anna Lovett, Conner Davenport and Tucker Anderson, defeated second place Rena Elementary to claim the championship. Fourth grader Katie DeWitt had the highest qualifying score in the state, outshooting 299 other elementary girls with a score of 264.

Charleston girls swept the middle division podium. Taylor Couthren, Maddison Johnson and Kylie Lensing, along with boy’s medalist Tanner Stark, powered the team to a first place finish over second place Waldron Middle School.

Charleston High School finished second behind Waldron High School. Senior Gracie Berry earned a third place medal in the girl’s division.
